CHEF BEL IS A HEALTHY FOOD AND COOK-FROM-SCRATCH ADVOCATE
Her love for good quality food has been with her since she was a little girl growing up in northern Portugal, where Organic was not a word, but simply….food! She started cooking at the age of 10 with her grandmother.
She learned about piri-piri and other Afro-Portuguese foods later in South Africa, and after marrying a man of Indian descent she learned about curries too – so well that her mother-in-law would ask her to cook for family gatherings!
CURRIES AT BEL’S HOME…
were always a favourite and when friends kept asking for recipes, Bel would give out jars of Masala for them to take home to replicate the flavour.
After many friends at home and work encouraged Bel to sell her jars of Masala and her good friend Jason even went as far as designing a label, she finally decided to leave a career of Finance and HR management behind to concentrate full time on her passion!
Belicious Masala was born!
