HOW TOAST THE LOCALS WORKS

What is an online marketplace?

An online marketplace is a website or app, commonly called a platform, which facilitates shopping from many different sources by bringing together people, businesses and brands in one convenient location.

Therefore Toast The Locals is not an online store, but an online marketplace. We do not hold stock of any products to sell. We provide the platform for sellers to offer their products, stories and brands on the internet and to reach and connect with the right audience. We provide a one stop shop for the consumer to find, explore and buy from Australian sellers.

I'm looking for a product, category or seller, how do I find that on Toast The Locals?

You can type the specific product, category or seller name in the search bar or use the category search.

How are the prices set?

We do not have anything to do with pricing set by the sellers on our website. All prices are at the seller's discretion and can vary from seller to seller.

What currency are the prices listed in?

All prices are listed in AUD.

How do I find specific dietary products?

You can type the specific dietary requirement in the search bar or use the filter function in the drop down in the shop. For example, by typing in “vegetarian” in the search bar it will search for all products with a “vegetarian” tag associated with it.

ORDERS & PAYMENT

Is there a minimum order?

No, you can order as much or as little as you like!

Is it safe to order on Toast The Locals?

Yes, it is safe to order on Toast The Locals! We use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving customer data exchanged with our site server. At Toast The Locals, we respect your privacy, and we will only disclose your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Can I order from multiple sellers in a single transaction?

Yes! You can order as many products from as many sellers as you like and this will all be aggregated in your shopping cart. However, please note that there will be a delivery per seller, so check the shipping costs of your order found in the shopping cart.

How does the ordering process work?

Choose the product(s) you would like to purchase and simply Add to Cart, where you can choose to either Continue Shopping or Checkout. This will take you to your Shopping Cart (you can also get here by clicking the shopping cart icon in the top right corner of any page), which will summarise your order. Here you can add a coupon code if you have one. Note the payment methods – PayPal, Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express), or Afterpay with those who offer it. Once you’re ready to move on, click Checkout. You can redeem your eGift Card here if you have one. You can then sign in if you have an account with us, or choose to create an account by clicking the Join Us button for a quick checkout. Otherwise, you will be prompted for Shipping Details as a Guest. Click the Pay Now button when you’re ready. Now sit back and relax as you wait for your order to arrive at your door!

How do I pay for my order?

You can pay via PayPal, Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express), or Afterpay with those who offer it. The entire payment process is done with a trusted world renowned data security specialist – to safeguard your personal information and provide peace of mind when buying online with us.

How do I know my order was successful?

We will send an order summary to the contact email you provided. We suggest you keep a copy for proof of purchase for any queries.

I have placed an order but haven't received an order summary – has my order been received? Please check your email spam filter first. If there is no order summary email in your inbox or spam folders, please contact us at via email hello@toastthelocals.com.au and a Toastie team member will get in touch.

I experienced problems during checkout, what do I do?

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

How do you ship? When will I receive my order?

Shipping is organised directly by the seller – Toast The Locals do not have anything to do with shipping by the sellers on the platform. Any shipping options, costs and timings are advertised on the specific product page. When added to your cart, you will be quoted an actual shipping cost and estimated delivery time as set by the seller.

During holiday or promotional periods (such as Black Friday, Easter, or Christmas), delivery times can be impacted resulting in delayed shipments. This is due to significant increases in order volume and time frames and can take a little longer than usual.

How can I get free shipping on my orders?

Some sellers will offer free shipping on all their products, specific products or if spending over a certain amount. Details on free shipping will be listed on individual product pages.

Do you ship Australia-wide?

Most of our sellers will ship Australia-wide. However, we do not have anything to do with shipping by the sellers on our site and shipping destinations will vary from seller to seller. Shipping details will be listed on the product page - ie, Worldwide, Australia-wide, etc.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently we are only able to accept online orders for addresses within Australia although this is under review.

E-GIFT CARDS

Where can I use my eGift Card?

You can redeem your gift voucher anywhere on our Toast The Locals website - that means for products, events and experiences, or our unique escapes.

Are the gift cards digital or physical?

Toast The Locals eGift Cards are digital and can be purchased 24/7 from our website. You can buy an eGift Card right here*(ATTACH HYPERLINK HERE). Once the order has been processed you will receive an order confirmation email with your gift card details. The card recipient will receive the eGift Card via email with instructions on how they can use it. We don’t offer physical gift vouchers at this stage.

When will my gift card be sent to me?

Your gift card will be issued immediately after purchase. If you have not received it, please check your spam/junk folder before contacting customer support. If you still have not received it, contact us at hello@toastthelocals.com.au.

How do I redeem a gift card?

To redeem your gift card you will need to enter the card number and PIN in the eGift Card Code section at checkout.

How long are gift cards valid for?

Toast The Locals eGift Cards are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

Where can I check my gift card balance?

You can check your balance here(PUT IN LINK HERE). You will need to enter the card number and PIN.

Can I choose how much the card is for?

Of course, this way you can customise your perfect gift. Just enter the value when you add the gift card to the cart.

Can I use multiple vouchers in a single transaction?

Yes, you can use multiple gift cards in the same transaction.

How many gift cards can I order in a single transaction and what is the best way to order bulk gift cards?

There is no limit, however, please email hello@toastthelocals.com.au and we can assist you with bulk orders (i.e. over 5 gift cards).

Is the delivery fee covered when using a gift card?

Yes, your gift card covers delivery.

Can I write a custom message?

Yes, you are able to do this at the checkout.

Can I return or exchange my gift card?

Toast The Locals eGift Cards entitle the holder to an amount of credit within the Marketplace that may be used to purchase goods or services from any Seller. Toast The Locals eGift Cards cannot be returned or exchanged for cash.
